New varmint load, 204. ruger or 22-250. rem?

Im getting a new gun to hunt coyotes with and shoot groundhogs or prairie dogs now and then. I wont be taking super long shots but occasionally i might take a 300 yard shot. I know that the 22-250 rem is an incredible cartridge and i know all about it. But i was also wanted to try the 204. ruger cause i heard such great things about it.

Now if i was going to get the 204. ruger, i want it in a browning a-bolt but browning doesn't sell 204. rugers. I have seen one in this caliber before, how can i get one like it?

I own a .22-250 and a .204. Both will do the job you describe. You would have more bullet selection with the .22 caliber. I tend to grab my .204 before my .22-250, especially for prairie dogs. I think I like it more because I am able to see the results through the scope more often.

However, I suspect you have answered your own question when you indicated that Browning does not make the .204. It sounds like a .204 is not an option unless you want to get a new barrel installed on an a-bolt.

Can a 350 fps airsoft gun kill a prairie dog from up close?

Definitely injure, but not a kill. All depends on the weight of the BB. A .177 BB gun, however, will definitely be a kill shot if it is shot in the head or upper torso.
