How to kill pocket gophers or stripped ground squirrels?

I have Grinnies as they are called by the locals in Iowa and they are very quick and small but root up my yard. I can't seem to keep up with gassing them at 1 to 2 dollars a bomb. They don't pop up enough like Prairie dogs and gopher poison isn't working. Any ideas?

Pour gasoline or diesel in their burrows and light it up! Good Luck!

Critter in backyard?

There is one tree in the middle of the yard. under one root a hole/tunnel has appeared. Its not terribly big, but a big problem.

Now, I want to just fill it. But I know he will most likely just redig it. I'v thought about blocking the hole before filling it as well. But he'll just redig a new hole?

I'm not sure how to trap it and I don't want to attract more. I can't poison it for I have pets.

I live in colorado so maybe a prairie dog, ground squirrel, rabbit I dont know lol.

I just need to get rid of it without more holes poppin up somewhere else.

any advice?

get a live trap and bait it at the holes opening.
might have to call a pest contol company to do it.
if you fill it in it will dig it back open.
have to trap it and remove it to solve the problem.
